Reog Ponorogo

Reog Ponorogo come from Ponorogo. Ponorogo is a regency of east Java. Ponorogo is known as the location of Indonesian traditional dance show that called REOG PONOROGO.

The reog dance tells the story of a battle between the King of Ponorogo and the magical lion "Singa Barong". The dance content of three sets, and each dance if performed by several dancers. The first dance of three sets of a dance is opening dance by male dancers with black costumes. The second dance is "Jaran Kepang" dance that performed by male dancers with black costumes. The last dance is the main attraction of the show, it is performed by all the reog dancers. The main male dancer that wearing a large and heavy lion mask, dances in the centre of the stage while the other dancers dance are him.
